The world watches as age-old ice bodies are quickly melting away at unprecedented rates, due to human-induced climate change, and leaving behind dramatic changes to mountain landscapes, freshwater scarcity and significantly rising sea levels around the globe (Rasul, Dahe and Chaudhry, 2008).
